Meet Tuvaluan dancer Molia Alama Tulafono

Pacific Dance New Zealand’s 2020 Artist in Residence is awarded this year to Tuvaluan Molia Alama Tulafono. The West Auckland choreographer was raised in Tuvalu and gained her dance expertise from traditional knowledge holders in the Nukulaelae Island community. The six-week residency has seen Molia and Maneanea Dance deliver workshops through zoom classes as well as at schools and tertiary institutions in Auckland and Wellington.

The Pacific Music Awards Trust have announced the Manukau Institute of Technology Lifetime Achievement Award for 2020.
