TP+ Gardening competition teaching life skills to Pasifika preschoolers

Over 13,000 preschoolers across the country took part in this year’s Daltrons Sunflowers in Kindergartens Project, with the aim of growing the tallest and widest sunflower in their region.

In Auckland, Mt Roskill Kindergarten took out the prize for the widest sunflower in the region, recording a diameter of 21cm.

A storm is brewing in the Cook Islands over what many say is a backdown by lawmakers to do away with a part of the crimes act which makes it illegal to be a homosexual.

Samoa measles epidemic: No deaths in the last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health confirms a total of 5,080 measles cases have been reported to the Disease Surveillance Team, since the outbreak started.  There were 85 recorded in the last 24 hours. There are currently 169 measles cases who are in-patients at all health facilities.  Of this, 127 are at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital
